SPOKANE, Wash. – A fire at a duplex in Spokane’s Nevada Heights neighborhood displaced several residents Sunday.
According to a Spokane Fire Department battalion chief at the scene, the fire started in the chimney at the back of a duplex in the 500 block of Bridgeport Avenue and spread to the attic. Firefighters said that residents were displaced as a result.
Crews were able to extinguish the fire quickly due to the home’s close proximity to a fire station.
