FERRY COUNTY, Wash. – The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife has killed a wolf from the Togo Pack following a series of cattle attacks in the area.

The decision to hunt and kill the wolf came after three incidents involving dead or injured cattle. Two of these attacks were confirmed to be caused by a wolf. Wildlife officials also believe the wolf was responsible for the third incident.

All three attacks occurred within a 30-day period. The approval for lethal removal of the wolf was granted on Monday and was carried out yesterday.

The situation highlights ongoing challenges in managing wildlife and livestock interactions in Ferry County.
