
SPOKANE, Wash. – The federal trial for nine people involved with Spokane’s June 11 protests at an Immigration and Customs Enforcement has been postponed by nearly seven more months.
This is according to an order by Judge Rebecca L. Pennel, the case administrator. The order was signed on September 8, 2025.
Ben Stuckart, one of the defendants , had written on Facebook that he had a pretrial conference on September 8.
The judge’s order declares that a new pretrial conference is set for April 20, 2026 and that the trial itself, which was previously set for September 22, 2025, is now set for May 18, 2026.
The people are Stuckart, who formerly served as City of Spokane’s city council president, Justice Forall, who served as the Director of Spokane Community Against Racism and is a member of City of Spokane’s Human Rights Commision, Jac Dalitso Archer, who is the Co-Executive Director of Spokane Community Against Racism, Mikki Pike Hatfield, Erin Nicole Lang, Collin James Muncey, Thalia Marie Ramirez, Bobbi Lee Silva and Bajun Dhunjisha Mavalwalla II.
On June 11, protesters rallied at the Spokane’s ICE office to oppose the detention and removal of Joswar Slater Torres and Cesar Alexander Alverez, who were while they turned in immigration-related paperwork.
The detainees were taken to the Tacoma Detention Center.
Before the federal charges were issued, Stuckart, Forall and Lang were charged locally. Judges dropped and charges without prejudice, which means that the charges could be refiled.
