WASHINGTON — The Food and Drug Administration has upgraded its recall of certain cheese products to the highest danger level, affecting multiple products sold in several states, including Washington.
Testing confirmed the presence of listeria in eight different types of Pecorino Romano cheese. These were sold under the Locatelli, Pinna, Boar’s Head and Sam’s Club brands.
The FDA confirmed that the impacted cheese products were distributed nationwide between November 3 and November 20.
The FDA advised individuals concerned about contamination to cross-reference the lot numbers for the affected products on their website before disposing of them or returning them for a refund.
