FBI fires San Antonio agent tied to Trump 2020 election investigation

SAN ANTONIO, Texas – The FBI has terminated a special agent linked to the investigation into President Donald Trump’s attempts to overturn the 2020 election.

Aaron Tapp, the special agent in charge of the FBI’s San Antonio office, was removed from his position. Tapp had been involved in the investigation concerning President Trump and his allies’ efforts to challenge the 2020 election results using unfounded fraud claims.

According to sources familiar with the situation, the case related to these efforts was eventually dropped.

The investigation had been ongoing for some time before Tapp’s dismissal.
