PORTLAND, Ore. – A father and his five children were rescued from rising floodwaters off the Molalla River on Friday morning, the Clackamas Fire District (CFD) reported.

Multiple agencies responded after the family’s truck became partially submerged near South Highway 211, trapping them inside.

Water Rescue teams provided life jackets to the truck’s occupants using ropes, then removed each family member from the vehicle and pulled them to safety on a raft.

No injuries were reported. Following the incident, officials urged drivers not to travel through flooded roadways.

“Floodwaters can be deeper, faster, and more dangerous than they appear,” a CFD spokesperson stated.
