Fatal crash on State Highway 41 near Spirit Lake under investigation

SPIRIT LAKE, Idaho – A crash on State Highway 41 near mile post on Sunday has left one dead. An investigation is underway, according to Idaho State Police.

Police said in a media release that a silver Ford F250 was heading northbound when it swerved into the southbound lane, crashing into a black Ford F350. The driver of the silver Fold, a 21-year-old man from Priest River, Idaho, died at the scene. Police reported he was not wearing a seatbelt.

The driver of the black Ford was transported to the hospital by ambulance for treatment.

Police said that evidence was found suggesting that alcohol was involved in the crash. The investigation is ongoing.
