MEAD, Wash. – An early morning house fire has left a family of five without a home in Mead. The blaze began around 2:30 a.m. according to Spokane County Fire District 9.
Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident. The homeowner shared that her 12-year-old granddaughter was awake on her cell phone when she heard the fire and alerted the family. Thanks to her quick actions, all five family members were able to escape safely.
The homeowner, who has lived in the house for several decades, is now working with the Red Cross to find temporary accommodation for her family.
