BOISE, Idaho – Families of Bryan Kohberger’s victims had their first opportunity to speak in court, sharing their emotions and reflections on the tragedy that claimed the lives of Kaylee Goncalves, Madison Mogen, Xana Kernodle and Ethan Chapin.

Kara Worthington, mother of Xana, attended the court hearing and expressed how the ordeal has led her to find solace in her faith.

“I have forgiven Brian Kohberger,” she said, explaining that she has moved on and hopes Kohberger seeks forgiveness from God. She added, “The Lord will decide what will happen to Kohberger.”

Kara also shared her perspective on her daughter’s life and legacy.

“I’m not going to share memories of Xana or any more of the goodness of her with you because I do not want that to be in your head,” she said.

She offered a chance for open dialogue with Kohberger, saying, “Anytime you want to talk and tell me what happened, get my number. I’m here. No judgment.”

The hearing also included comments from Xana’s aunt Kim, who said, “This tragedy on all four of our children has brought us closer, reunited us with your actions. We are united.”

Xana’s father, Jeff, shared a poignant moment from his journey to the hearing. “I heard a little girl calling out for her dad,” he said, adding that it reminded him of Xana.

Xana’s sister also spoke, revealing that Xana would have been her maid of honor. She expressed her hope that Kohberger will find God.
