SEATTLE, Wash. – Families who lost loved ones in two Boeing 737 MAX crashes may soon have another opportunity to seek criminal charges against the company.
A Texas federal judge is preparing to hear arguments on a motion from the US government to dismiss a felony charge against Boeing.
US prosecutors previously charged Boeing with conspiracy to commit fraud related to crashes in 2018 and 2019 that resulted in 346 deaths off the coast of Indonesia and Ethiopia.
Boeing chose to plead guilty rather than face trial.
The fate of Boeing’s plea agreement rests with the US District Chief Judge, who could decide to reject it.
