Multiple events have been organized across the region to pay tribute and honor the heroes and victims of September 11.
The Spokane County Interstate Fair will be hosting “Heroes Day,” offering free admission throughout the day for all military veterans, active military members, family of military members with identification, firefighters, EMTs and paramedics, hospital staff and police.
“Bring your work badge or valid Military ID to receive free admission ALL DAY,” event organizers stated.
Eastern Washington University will be hosting the “9/11 Memorial Stair Climb,” scheduled to take place from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. The event aims to honor the lives of first responders who died in the line of duty, working to rescue those at risk in the twin towers.
During the stair climb, participants can take on the challenge of climbing 110 floors to emulate the height of the twin towers. Event organizers stated that all participants will be required to sign a waiver before taking on this challenge.
The Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office, in partnership with Black Sheep Sporting Goods, will be hosting a September 11 Memorial Ceremony at the Silver Lake Mall in Coeur d’Alene. The event, scheduled to begin at 11 a.m., will pay tribute to both the citizens and emergency responders who died during the national tragedy. Admission to the event will be free, and it is open to everyone.
