State fire assistance has been mobilized to support local firefighters as they battle the Greenacres Fire near Omak.
Washington State Patrol Chief John Batiste approved the mobilization on July 14, 2025, at 8:30 p.m., following a request from Fire Chief Jeremy Patrick of Okanogan Fire District 3, the State Fire Marshal’s Office said in a release.
The Greenacres Fire ignited on July 14, 2025, around 3:20 p.m. It has already expanded to 550 acres, burning through brush and grass.
The fire poses a threat to homes, structures, and infrastructure, prompting Level 3 evacuations.

A shelter has been set up at the Omak Seventh Day Adventist Church located at 452 2nd Ave W, the corner of 2nd Ave W and Elm Street South, said Okanogan County Emergency Management.
Those needing space for animals can go to the Okanogan County Fairgrounds located at 175 Rodeo Trail Rd.

According to Maurice Goodall, Director of Okanogan County Emergency Management, the fire ignited along Green Acres Road, rapidly spreading south and slightly east.
The blaze has blackened approximately 40 acres, primarily sagebrush and grass.
There are buildings nearby, but there is no information yet on whether any structures have been damaged.
RIVERSIDE, Wash. – A Level 3 immediate evacuation has been issued for areas around a 40 acre fire in Riverside.
Okanogan County Emergency Management said residents and businesses in the area of 202 Greenacres Road, which is closed, near Omak Airport should move away from the fire immediately.
High winds are causing additional problems across Okanogan County, with downed trees and power lines, said the Okanogan County Sheriff’s Office in a release.
Phone lines are also impacted, but 911 lines remain operational.
Non-emergency calls to and from dispatch may face disruptions.
