According to Okanogan County Fire District 16, the wildfire near Tonasket, now called the “Bench Creek Fire,” is 95% lined and its forward progression has been stopped.
Okanogan County Emergency Management stated that fire crews will remain on scene throughout the night, and that all previous evacuation levels will remain in place for Saturday night.
TONASKET, Wash. – Authorities have issued a Level 2, “be ready,” evacuation alert for a fire in Aeneas Valley, near Bluebell Lane. Residents on Bluebell Lane should be prepared to evacuate.
Officials described the fire as “fast-moving,” urging the public to stay aware of their surroundings and emergency vehicles in the area. Residents within the evacuation zone have been advised to leave if they feel unsafe.
A Level 1 advisory was issued for Ruby Two Moons Road in Aeneas Valley as well.
Okanogan County Emergency Management will continue monitoring the incident.
