EPA cancels $7 billion in funding for solar energy projects

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has ended a grant program worth $7 billion aimed at funding solar projects for nearly one million lower-income American households.

This decision aligns with the Trump administration’s shift away from clean energy initiatives. The EPA also recently proposed .

The funding was initially part of former President Joe Biden’s “Solar for All” program, which awarded over $150 million to 60 recipients, including states, tribes, and regions. Washington state was among those who received this financial support.
