WASHINGTON STATE — The Washington State Department of Transportation has announced that emergency repairs on U.S. 2 Stevens Pass have been completed. The road is now open to Coles Corner without the need for a pilot car.

However, U.S. 2 Tumwater Canyon remains closed. Travelers are advised to use Chumstick Highway as a detour.

Crews are scheduled to begin repairs on Chumstick Highway next week.

For cross-state travel, drivers are encouraged to use Interstate 90, U.S. 97 Blewett Pass or State Route 28 through Quincy.
