ELLENSBURG, Wash. – Grayson Smith, a pianist known for his performances at Magic Kingdom Park, has been awarded the prestigious Disney Legacy Award, highest recognition a Disney cast member can receive.

Smith, from Ellensburg, joined the Walt Disney World Resort after participating in productions at Seattle’s 5th Avenue Theatre. His music at Casey’s Corner has captivated guests, creating magical Disney moments.

The Disney Legacy Award honors individuals who embody the qualities of Dream, Create and Inspire. Fewer than 1% of cast members receive this recognition, making it a rare achievement.

Upon receiving the award, Smith expressed his gratitude. “I’m so grateful, and so thrilled, it’s an amazing feeling,” he said. “To be recognized in front of my friends and leaders, right here in Magic Kingdom, is something I’ll never forget.”

Magic Kingdom Vice President Sarah Riles praised Smith’s impact on guests. “Grayson has a gift for making every guest feel special. This Legacy Award is just a reflection of the magic he shares with all of us every single day,” said Riles.

Smith’s peers highlighted his ability to create happiness through his interactions and music. “From remembering faces, conversing and interacting with guests, and being a kind and happy cast member, he creates happiness in every opportunity he is given,” one peer shared.
