Egypt to hold open training session at Gonzaga, offering free tickets

Spokane, WASH. — Fans eagerly awaiting the arrival of the Egyptian National Team can see them during an open training session on June 10th.

The City of Spokane will be allocating tickets to a limited number of fans, so you’ll have to sign up tomorrow. The city and Gonzaga said in a news release:

This is a free event for fans, but tickets through the City of Spokane are required. Due to FIFA and Egypt regulations, tickets are extremely limited for the training session, distributed through random selection, and will be limited to a maximum of two (2) tickets per claim. The ticket claim form, located by clicking here, will go live Wednesday at 9 a.m., and close at 9 p.m. Additional details, including gate times, parking information and event policies, will be included in the ticket claim.

It’ll take place at Gonzaga University’s Luger Field on June 10 at 12 p.m., as the Pharaohs prepare for the FIFA World Cup.

“We are thrilled to welcome the Spokane community to Gonzaga University for this special opportunity to see the Egypt National Team prepare for the world stage,” said Gonzaga University President Katia Passerini. “Being selected as a Team Base Camp Training Site for FIFA World Cup 2026™ is an extraordinary honor for Gonzaga and Spokane, and this open training session will allow our community to share in the excitement of this global event.”

The City of Spokane and Gonzaga University were selected as Egypt’s Team Base Camp Training Site to serve as a “home away from home” for national teams throughout the tournament, providing a centralized location for training sessions, player workouts, team meetings and staff operations.

“We are eagerly awaiting the Pharaohs’ arrival and are excited for Spokane to experience this once-in-a-generation moment,” said Spokane Mayor Lisa Brown in a press release. “This open training session is a wonderful way for our community to show its support, celebrate the global game and welcome Egypt to the Lilac City.”

Egypt will make its fourth World Cup appearance in 2026. The Pharaohs are seven-time Africa Cup of Nations champions and are led by head coach Hossam Hassan and a talented squad featuring Premier League standout Mohamed Salah.

Egypt’s group-stage schedule includes matches against Belgium on June 15th in Seattle, New Zealand on June 21st in Vancouver, B.C., and Iran on June 26th in Seattle.
