CHENEY, Wash. – Eastern Washington University (EWU) recently made a dream come true for a young aspiring filmmaker named Hunter.
For three years, EWU has hosted a wish kid as their Lucky Eagle during the spring football scrimmage, and this year, Hunter had the honor of being part of the team.
Hunter, who dreams of attending EWU and pursuing a career in filmmaking, was thrilled to be on the field with the film crew. His father, Cory, shared the excitement of the day, saying, “It was such an incredible opportunity, and I cannot thank you (EWU) enough.”
In March, Hunter expressed his wish for video equipment, and EWU embraced his passion for storytelling. “He was all smiles getting to be on the field with the film crew, and he got some great footage with his camera,” Cory said. “He made some great connections with the crew, and this experience has really lit a fire under him.”
Cory added that Hunter learned valuable tips from the crew and is excited about his future at Eastern and in film. “Seeing my son this excited and happy for something feels so good to my heart and soul, and it is all due to you and Make-A-Wish’s efforts,” he said.
