The fire has been knocked down and all evacuation notices have been lifted, according to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.
The Sheriff’s Office said Blue Grade Road will remain closed to nonresidents, and Eastmont Avenue, between U.S. 2 and Fancher Field Road, will remain closed for an estimated two hours.
EAST WENATCHEE, Wash. – A brushfire has led to the closure of both directions of the Eastmont Extension at the Highway 2 and Highway 28B (Sunset Highway) interchange.
The Washington State Department of Transportation and Washington State Patrol are advising the public to avoid the area and use alternate routes. This is a developing situation, and fire response crews are actively working on the scene.
Residents are urged to stay alert and cautious if traveling near the affected area.
