SPOKANE, Wash. – Summer Safety Week kicks off in downtown Spokane from August 4 to 8, celebrating the efforts of the Downtown Ambassadors, according to a release by the Downtown Spokane Partnership.

The Downtown Spokane Business Improvement District (BID) oversees the Ambassadors, who support businesses, visitors and residents.

In 2024, they responded to 4,500 service calls and made nearly 4,000 connections with the community. This year, they have already logged nearly 7,000 safety contacts, the release said.

Throughout the week, Downtown Spokane will share safety tips on social media to keep the community informed.

The highlight is the National Night Out Against Crime on August 5 from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wall Street.

Attendees can connect with local police, Ambassadors, and Park Rangers, learn about wheel safety and enjoy games and treats.
