OUTLOOK, Wash. – The Yakima County Sheriff’s Office (YCSO) is on the hunt for a man suspected of firing shots after deputies responded to a domestic violence report involving a firearm in the rural Outlook area.
Upon arrival late Saturday morning, deputies said they encountered a male suspect near the home in the area of 2600 Van Belle Rd. Shots were fired shortly after, and the suspect retreated inside, a YCSO release said.
Multiple agencies, including the Yakima Regional SWAT Team and Tri-Cities Regional SWAT Team, were called to assist. Despite extensive efforts, investigators said the suspect was not found after entry into the residence.
No injuries were reported among family members, neighbors, or law enforcement personnel.
The Yakima Valley Special Investigations Unit (YVSIU) is now handling the investigation in accordance with Washington State law. Deputies involved have been placed on administrative leave, the release added.
