SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. – Deputies with the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) responded to a domestic violence call on North Marguerite Road, where a suspect was reported to have multiple knives.
According to SCSO spokesperson Mark Gregory, the suspect was under the influence and became disorderly, attempted to fight people and threw an object at a vehicle.
When deputies tried to detain the suspect near the Maverick Gas station on East Montgomery, he was aggressive and resisted arrest, Gregory said.
The suspect fell to the ground after multiple taser applications, but continued to fight deputies while they were on the ground. At least one deputy was struck, Gregory said.
Deputies eventually secured and arrested the suspect. They were later decontaminated after exposure to blood that the suspect sustained from punching a window.
Gregory said at least one citizen helped deputies in the arrest.
