DEER PARK, Wash. – A local Deer Park man is among the select few competing in Netflix’s new real-life version of Squid Game: The Challenge.
Justin Polony is one of just 456 contestants vying for the third-largest cash prize in reality competition history, totaling $456 million. The show is based on the popular South Korean Netflix series.
Polony shared his journey, saying it took nearly a year of interviews and casting rounds before being selected. “Out of more than 170,000 applicants, only 456 players were selected to compete for the multimillion-dollar prize,” Polony said.
He expressed excitement about his participation, noting, “There was 170,000 applied and they narrowed it down to 456 and I was one of the ones that got picked. So it’s crazy. It’s a lot of fun,” Polony said.
New episodes of Squid Game: The Challenge are now streaming on Netflix.
