Deadly crash on State Route 26 closes road at milepost 77

According to Sergeant Riddell with Washington State Patrol (WSP) District 4, the pickup truck involved in the accident was traveling southbound on South Marcellus Road. The driver of this pickup failed to yield at a stop sign, and collided with a semi truck traveling westbound on State Route 26.

Both drivers were reportedly wearing seatbelts.

Following the collision, LifeFlight was requested for the driver of the pickup, however, the driver was eventually pronounced dead.

The driver of the semi truck was also reportedly injured during the accident.

Crews remain at the scene, and WSP stated that an investigation of the collision is underway.

ADAMS COUNTY, Wash. – A fatal crash on State Route 26 between a car and a semi truck resulted in serious injury and a fully blocked roadway at milepost 77.

State Route 26 will be closed from State Route 395 to State Route 261 for an unknown amount of time, according to the Washington Department of Transportation.

Washington State Department of Transportation said westbound travelers can detour using State Route 261/260 in Washtucna and eastbound travelers can detour using State Route 21.

Washington State Patrol first announced the crash at 11:54 a.m.
