KETTLE FALLS, Wash. –The body of a 56-year-old Davenport man was found during a search and rescue mission near the Growden Heritage Site in Kettle Falls, the Ferry County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO) said in a release.
Sheriff’s investigators said they discovered the man’s vehicle parked on a U.S. Forest Service road on May 13, 2025.
The initial search by Ferry County Search and Rescue (FCSAR), with assistance from the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, was unsuccessful.
A second search on May 24 involved Stevens, Okanogan and Kittitas County Search and Rescue teams along with a drone, FCSO said.
About two and a half hours into the search, FCSO said the missing man was found deceased by a ground search team.
The Ferry County Coroner’s Office is now handling the case.
