A wildfire that started as a motorhome fire and shut down Highway 97 near Blewett Pass on Thursday was surrounded by a fire line overnight and the highway was reopened.
The U.S. Forest Service wrote on Facebook that crews put a fire line around the Pipe Creek Fire’s perimeter and were continuing to mop things up Friday afternoon.
While the forest service said cause was still under investigation, the Washington State Patrol reported that the fire started with a motorhome fire. The patrol didn’t say what caused that fire.
Highway 97 was completely reopened Friday but the forest service warned that could stay slow going as crews continued their work.
