Crews making progress on brush fire along I-90 in Cle Elum, traffic still slow

Fire crews have stopped forward progress, according to KCFD7. The blaze grew to nearly five acres.

CLE ELUM, Wash. – A brush fire along I-90 near the eastbound Oakes Road off-ramp through Cle Elum is slowing traffic on the freeway.

Firefighters from Kittitas County Fire District 7 (KCFD7) are receiving assistance from the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) with a dozer and two aircraft.

Additional resources, including tenders and support from neighboring fire districts, have been requested to help contain the blaze.
