Crash on State Route 12 near Walla Walla leaves three dead

UPDATE: December 25 at 11:40 p.m.

Washington State Patrol (WSP) confirms three people were killed in the crash.

One vehicle was traveling westbound when it struck a guardrail, overcorrected and entered the eastbound lanes, crashing into a second vehicle carrying three people from Moses Lake.

All three occupants including a six month old child were killed.

The driver of the vehicle that crashed into the victims’ vehicle resides in Benton City. He was transported to Kadlec Regional Medical Center with unknown injuries.

The involvement of drugs or alcohol remains unknown and charges are pending.

Highway 12 remains closed.

WALLA WALLA, Wash. – US 12, approximately five miles east of Wallula Junction, is currently closed while Washington State Patrol (WSP) troopers investigate a crash.

Traffic is backed up, largely due to no available detour in the area of the crash.

Drivers can use SR 124 and SR 125 to Walla Walla, according to WSDOT.
