
WENATCHEE, Wash. – Court documents released on Thursday revealed that Travis Decker, the man accused of , was planning to relocate to Canada just days before the Decker children were reported missing.
According to court documents, Decker made multiple Google searches on May 26 about getting to Canada, including the following: “how does a person move to canada”, “how to relocate to canada”, and “jobs canada.”
Decker also visited the site “Find a job – Canada.ca” on the same date.
The victims’ remains were discovered relatively close to the Canadian border and approximately 11 miles from the Pacific Crest Trail, which is a well-established trail that leads directly to Canada.
According to court documents, Decker is a former military member with training in navigation, woodland/mountainous terrain, long distance movements, survival and numerous other disciplines needed to be able to flee from the Eastern District of Washington.
Decker’s current location is still unknown. Court documents stated that during the investigation, there has been no indication that Decker is attempting to conceal himself from law enforcement with any associate in the Eastern District of Washington.
Court documents also stated that there is probable cause to believe that between at least June 2 and the present day, Decker committed unlawful flight to avoid prosecution.
Authorities are offering a for information leading to Decker’s arrest.
