SPOKANE, Wash. – Drivers in Spokane should prepare for significant construction-related disruptions next week as two major corridors face closures and lane reductions.
Starting Monday, Rockwood Boulevard will be fully closed between Grand Boulevard and Cowley Street. This closure, expected to last until Wednesday, is necessary for water and sewer upgrades near Sacred Heart Medical Center.
9th Avenue will remain open, but reduced to one lane in each direction. Street parking will be unavailable in the work zone.
Next week, construction will commence on North Ash Street. The stormwater system work, initially scheduled for earlier this month, will now occur from September 22 to 24.
Southbound Ash Street will be reduced from three lanes to just one between Indiana Avenue and Maxwell Avenue. This reduction is likely to cause significant slowdowns, especially during peak hours.
