COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho – After a recent shooting left Idaho firefighter Dave Tysdal seriously injured, the local community has rallied together to support him. A unique initiative has emerged from within the fire department to aid Tysdal in his recovery journey.

Matt Glen, a fellow firefighter and close friend of Tysdal, has designed an apparel line to symbolize the community’s support. Glen collaborated with Tysdal’s family to create a design that captures the essence of Engine 3, the unit Tysdal served with, and reflects the outpouring of community support.

“Yeah. So the idea behind it was, something that was going to be uplifting and positive, something that, we could all wear to support Dave through his recovery journey,” Glen said.

The shirts feature Engine 3 on the front, where Tysdal was the engineer. It also includes the Maltese cross with three stars above it, representing Tysdal’s family, as well as the Morrison and Harwood families, who are also receiving support.

“The back of the shirt is a line of Idaho with the heart above… Post Falls and Coeur d’Alene… the idea with that is just to show and represent the support the community’s had,” Glen added.

All proceeds from the Tysdal Strong T-shirt and hat sales will go to the Red & Blue Foundation, which is assisting the Tysdal, Morrison and Harwood families.
