AIRWAY HEIGHTS, Wash. – The community came together on Saturday for “Cops, Kids n Cruisers,” an event organized by the West Plains Safety Alliance. Attendees enjoyed an evening focused on unity, safety and service alongside law enforcement and local leaders.

Participants had the opportunity to check out vintage cars while enjoying free barbecue food. The event also featured games for kids, snow cones and safety demonstrations.

Donations from the event supported the West Plains Safety Alliance, which works to identify and address regional disparities in resources for community safety and well-being.

“There are many individuals in this community who are under privileged, under-served, so as a community and as community leaders, West Plains Safety Alliance, we’re coming together to try and help individuals that need help,” Mable Dunbar, an event organizer, stated.

The organization serves communities west of Spokane, including Airway Heights, Cheney, Medical Lake and the tribal lands of both the Spokane and Kalispel tribes.
