
CHELAN COUNTY, Wash. – Authorities have identified the hiker who died after jumping into Colchuck Lake on August 3. The Chelan County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the victim as 30-year-old Akash Gopala-Krishnan.
Gopala-Krishnan, a North Carolina resident, was in the United States on a work visa from India. He was pulled from the water after being submerged for several minutes.
Despite efforts to save him, including CPR and an airlift, Gopala-Krishnan died while being transported to the hospital.
