
COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho – Police Chief Lee White announced he will be stepping down from his role early next year after more than 30 years in law enforcement.
Chief White will officially leave his position on January 14, 2025.
In a statement to the city council, he described his time on the force as “an honor of his life.”
During his tenure, the department has seen a significant drop in crime, with a reported decrease of more than 78 percent over the last 11 years.
Chief White expressed confidence that the department will continue to operate “with pride and excellence” even after his departure.
The city has yet to announce plans for selecting his successor.
