COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho – Aaron Clint Jewett, 47, was sentenced to a 12-year prison term after being convicted of methamphetamine-related charges. The sentencing took place on May 3 by District Judge Lamont Berecz, with parole eligibility set after two and a half years.
Jewett’s conviction stemmed from an investigation by the Coeur d’Alene Police Department using a confidential informant. Officers purchased methamphetamine from Jewett in January and March 2025, leading to a search warrant for his residence. The search revealed additional meth, scales, and zip lock baggies.
Jewett’s criminal record includes DUI, possession of controlled substances, and providing false identification. Chief Criminal Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Laura McClinton recommended a 12-year sentence with parole eligibility after four years, but Judge Berecz allowed for earlier parole.
