Clouds build toward a chance of rain Friday night

A mix of spring-like warmth and occasional showers continues through the weekend before a much windier and snowier system arrives early next week.

Plan Your Friday

Spotty showers are possible throughout the day, but most of us will just see cloudy skies on Friday. Temperatures will reach the mid 40s to mid 50s Friday afternoon. Another system arrives Friday evening and continues into Saturday morning, increasing the chances of rain compared to daytime hours.

What We’re Tracking

Winds increase Saturday, but the main impact arrives Sunday as a strong cold front crosses the region. Winds will gust 30 to 40 mph, but we can’t rule out a few gusts up to 50. Highway travel could be difficult across Eastern Washington on Sunday afternoon due to crosswinds.

Looking ahead to Monday and Tuesday, snow levels drop significantly. Heavy mountain snow is likely, while the valleys and lowlands are likely to get their first taste of snow this month. Temperatures will cool enough by the middle of next week that some morning snow accumulations are possible.
