SPOKANE, Wash. — The City of Spokane is teaming up with Meals on Wheels to help people in need as we approach summer.
The city will use $1,000 from its inclement weather fund to purchase cooling fans. The fans will then be distributed by Meals on Wheels to seniors and people with disabilities to help people with limited access to cooling resources.
“Something as simple as a fan can make a meaningful difference. This is a small, but important way we can support our seniors and help them stay safe in their homes,” Mayor Lisa Brown said.
