CHENEY, Wash. – The Cheney Police Department announced that parking citations issued on Halloween night in certain areas will be voided.
The announcement came after officers responded to parking complaints in the Golden Hills, Nolan Brown and N. 6th Street areas.
The department enforced existing signage, but it was later discovered that temporary parking allowances were not communicated to them prior to the events.
Chief Oakes and the sergeants reviewed the situation and confirmed the decision to void the citations. The department expressed appreciation for the community’s understanding and aims to improve communication between departments in the future.
For any questions, residents are encouraged to contact Crime Check at 509-456-2233 and speak with the on-duty sergeant.
