LINCOLN COUNTY, Wash. — A Cheney man died Friday after suffering a medical emergency while driving on I-90, the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office reported.
Barry R. Strieff, 74, was driving west near milepost 251, about seven miles east of Sprague, when his vehicle entered the center median and came to rest, the sheriff’s office said.
Strieff was pronounced dead at the scene. A 65-year-old passenger, Patricia K. Strieff, was not injured.
The sheriff’s office confirmed both were wearing seatbelts and that drugs or alcohol were not involved.
The crash was classified as a non-traffic fatal collision. Only one vehicle was involved, the sheriff’s office said.
