WENATCHEE, Wash. — The Chelan County website and online services remained offline Wednesday morning as the county works to recover from a malware attack.
The county said it is making progress in restoring the network and telephone system but could not share a date when it will be back up for public use.
The malware attack was discovered Sunday morning and the system was shut down. The county is working with third-party specialist to determine what happened.
County offices are open but do not have access to online services or phone systems.
In a social media post Wednesday morning, Judge Kristin Ferrera posted,
“Chelan County Superior Court is operating but on a more limited basis. Assume that your case is going to be heard as scheduled unless you hear otherwise from court staff. Our filing system, emails and phones are still down. If you need to reach the court for any reason please do not message any of the judges directly, but you can email chelancountysuperiorcourt@gmail.com”
The county is asking people who are doing business with a county office, please use cash or checks. It adds, people who are paying cash need to bring the exact amount.
