The Washington State Patrol shared more information and released a video of the AMBER alert recovery that happened on Interstate 90 on Tuesday morning.
Early on May 13, 2025, WSP officers, in coordination with Oregon State Police, successfully stopped a stolen vehicle connected to an AMBER Alert. The vehicle was located near the Winchester Rest Area on I-90, WSP said.
At 2:21 a.m., a WSP trooper spotted the vehicle nine miles east of George, Wash. When the stolen vehicle fled, WSP pursued and used a low-speed Pursuit Immobilization Technique maneuver to stop it. The driver, 29-year-old Adan Osman Abdi, and passenger, 26-year-old Trayviana Shoulders, were taken into custody.
Abdi faced charges of felony eluding and vehicle theft. Shoulders was charged with a court order violation and other pending charges from Oregon. The two children involved in the AMBER Alert were placed in protective custody.
In a heartwarming turn, Rose Osborne, a Waterville School fourth grader, had donated over 65 stuffed animals to WSP in February. A trooper provided these comforting toys to the children during the incident, WSP said.
