SPOKANE, Wash. – Community members gathered Thursday night for a candlelight vigil to honor the memory of Mike Griese, .
The vigil took place at the intersection of East Everett Avenue and North Freya Street, the same location where Griese lost his life.
Spokane Police Major Crimes is currently investigating the incident. According to the Spokane Police Department, Griese was struck by a vehicle, and the driver fled the scene.
Griese later succumbed to his injuries.
