The Bush family non-profit, Points of Light, announced a goal to double the number of U.S. volunteers from 75 million to 150 million over the next 10 years.
This initiative was revealed at the foundation’s annual conference and seeks to match the scale of federal programs like AmeriCorps.
The announcement comes amid federal cuts threatening the financial stability of many nonprofits, including AmeriCorps. A judge recently paused some of these cuts in states that sued the Trump administration.
