Burley man charged with 4 murders in Cassia and Minidoka, Idaho

RUPERT, ID – A Burley man has been charged with four counts of first-degree murder following a dual-county investigation in Cassia and Minidoka, Idaho counties.

Benjamin Naylor, 56, was arrested on July 8, during a traffic stop by the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, with assistance from the Idaho State Police, a joint release by the Cassia and Minidoka County Prosecutor’s Office said.

Prosecutors said the arrest was part of a coordinated effort involving several law enforcement agencies, including the Cassia and Minidoka County Sheriff’s Offices and the Rupert Police Department.

The investigation began following a 911 call that led officers to discover a homicide victim in Rupert, Idaho. Soon after, two more victims were found in Cassia County, and a fourth in a vehicle in Minidoka County, the city of Rupert said in a release.

Investigators said Naylor acted alone and there is no ongoing threat to the public.

Naylor appeared in court today and was ordered held without bond.

A preliminary hearing is set for Cassia County on Friday, July 18, 2025, at 9:00 a.m.,and for Minidoka County on July 23, 2025, at 1:30 p.m.
