GRANT COUNTY, Wash.–A white vehicle was submerged in a canal southeast of Ephrata and a body was found downstream.
A 55-year-old from Yakima was driving the 2025 GMC Sierra and when he attempted to turn around, he lost control of the vehicle and slid into the canal, according to the Grant County Sheriff’s Office.
Columbia Basin Dive Rescue assisted recovering the body and vehicle, and the the county coroner took possession of the body, according to GCSO. It is unclear if alcohol or drugs were involved.
