Boat registration deadline nears in Washington State, renew by June 30

OLYMPIA, Wash. – With the Fourth of July weekend approaching, boat owners are reminded that boat and watercraft registration decals in Washington State expire on June 30.

Boat owners have the option to renew their registrations online or in person at a local vehicle licensing office.

It’s important to note the registration number on the bow of the boat and bring that information if renewing in person.

Vehicle licensing offices will be closed on Thursday, June 19, in observance of the Juneteenth federal holiday. For those needing to renew quickly, some local offices offer Saturday hours.

The State Department of Licensing has stopped mailing renewal notices.

Boat owners can sign up for email renewal reminders on the Department of Licensing website.
