BOISE, Idaho – Bloom Care LLC, an urgent care operator with locations in Idaho and New Mexico, has agreed to a $3 million settlement over allegations of unnecessary billing during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Court documents revealed that Bloom Care and its owners were accused of using the pandemic as a reason to bill for unnecessary tests. The Justice Department noted that while the settlement has been reached, the claims remain allegations, and Bloom Care has not necessarily admitted to any wrongdoing.

The settlement was made as Bloom Care allegedly exaggerated services performed at their urgent care centers during the pandemic.

The Justice Department clarified that reaching a settlement does not imply taking responsibility for the allegations.

This settlement highlights the ongoing scrutiny of healthcare providers during the pandemic and the importance of accountability in medical billing practices.
