WASHINGTON — Congressman Michael Baumgartner voted in favor of three Appropriations bills aimed at securing crucial funding for Eastern Washington. These bills, which still need Senate approval, focus on energy independence, national defense, law enforcement, and community infrastructure.
The Commerce, Justice, Science (CJS) Appropriations Bill:
allocates $1,772,970 to upgrade local jail facilities in Adams County
The Interior and Environment Appropriations Bill:
$1,000,000 to the City of Palouse for Wastewater Treatment Plant Improvements$750,000 to the City of Ritzville for Sewer Collection System Improvement $1,000,000 to the City of College Place for Water Storage Project$934,965 to the City of Republic for Water Tank Replacement Project$750,000 to the Town of Springdale for Storage Capacity Improvements
Congressman Baumgartner emphasized the impact of these investments, stating, “Eastern Washington sent me to Congress to tighten the belt in DC and deliver real results back home, and this package does both.”
Baumgartner highlighted that these bills represent a conservative approach to governance, aligning with President Trump’s agenda for American families and communities. The package aims to save $2 billion while improving infrastructure and community services.
The bills must pass the Senate before being signed into law by the President.
