CLARKSTON, Wash. — The new Asotin County Jail is now open and operating, featuring several upgrades that enhance both staff efficiency and inmate conditions.
The facility boasts eight holding cells, an upgrade from the previous two, and allows staff more time and flexibility in booking inmates.
Jail Commander Nathan Uhlorn noted that both employees and inmates are enjoying the new facility.
He highlighted the inclusion of televisions, which serve as both a behavioral tool and a source of recreation.
Uhlorn also mentioned the ongoing need for more corrections officers. He encouraged those interested in joining the team to contact the sheriff’s office to apply.
