Arthur J. Perillo III named new Moses Lake fire chief

MOSES LAKE, Wash. – The City of Moses Lake announced Arthur J. Perillo III as the new fire chief of the Moses Lake Fire Department, effective September 22. With over 24 years of experience, Chief Perillo is known for his commitment to community safety and emergency preparedness.

Perillo has spent 25 years in the fire service, gaining experience in various operational and administrative roles within an all-hazards response environment. He holds credentials as a chief fire officer, chief EMS officer, and chief training officer through the Center for Public Safety Excellence.

His academic qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in fire and emergency services administration and a master’s degree in business management and leadership.

Perillo expressed his enthusiasm for the role, citing the area’s sunshine, outdoor recreation, and vibrant community.

“What truly solidified my interest, however, was learning more about the professional and dedicated men and women who work for the City of Moses Lake and the Moses Lake Fire Department,” Perillo said.

He describes his leadership style as inclusive and transparent, focused on developing people and systems that build lasting value for the community.

“I believe in cultivating relationships with internal teams, labor partners, and residents to foster trust and shared responsibility for public safety,” Perillo said.
